Large heavy Silver ore specimen rich with dark silver-black massive Pyrargyrite (Ruby Silver) with deep red internal color associated with Galena, Sphalerite, and Pyrite. The old label with this specimen mentions that this is a piece of high-grade ore.
In the Mineralogical Record's article on the Highland Bell Mine (20-6,p441) the silver lodes occur in brecciated Quartz veins in a mineralized zone approximately 6.4km E-W that is interrupted by numerous offset faults.
