Sieleckiite

Named in honor of Robert Sielecki, who collected the first specimens in Australia. Found at justa couple localities, Sieleckiite was found at its type locality at the Mt. Oxide copper mine in Australia as a secondary mineral in fractures from a bolder that originated in the oxidized zone of the copper deposit.

- Type Locality
Royal blue crystals of Sieleckiite to about 0.4mm occuring at 3 or 4 spots on this specimen. The light sky blue is Variscite while the light green are Libethenite crystals. Sieleckiite is named for Robert Sielecki, noted Australian mineral dealer who discoverd the mineral. Sieleckiite was first published in Mineralogical Magazine 1988 and is an extremely rare copper-aluminum phosphate. Rob operates Ausrox and you can see several of his rooms and booths at all the major shows. Ausrox operates on the web as Crystal Universe at http://crystaluniverse.com.au/.
