Layers of iron-vanadium oxides in mulitiple phases probably produced after the mineralizing solutions shot through and impregnated the sandstone matrix. It is typical roll-front geochemistry in varius degrees of redox states as water migrated and carried the minerals through the formation. Cool stuff to study enlight of the fact that these deposits produce a wide array of vanadium minerals. This specimen also contains a little Tyuyamunite.
