Bluish-black mass with micro crystals less than 0.5mm in large open vug. There are some sulfides.

Barbosalite, although not considered a primary phosphate, it is a product alkali-leaching (metasomatism) of "reworked" Triphylite according to Moore (Min. Record, 1973). Barbosalite has often hosted superb crystals of Phosphossiderite and Strengite.
