This specimen is from the Eskay Creek mine, a polymetallic deposit, in British Columbia. Once operated by Homestake and Barrick mining companies the mine produced 3.3 million ounces of gold and 160 million ounces of silver at average grades of 45 g/t gold and 2,224 g/t silver from 1994 -2008. It is now owned by Skeena Gold Company, who states: "Eskay Creek is renowned for being one of the highest-grade and lowest-cost open-pit precious metal mines globally. Additionally, estimated silver by-product production will surpass many primary silver mines". They are scheduled to be back online and mining in 2027.
