Large chunk of Petalite with an interesting pearly luster. Petalite has a basal cleavage and is seen on this specimen as a somewhat undulating suface and not as good flat plane. It is less dense than Quartz and Pollucite and feels light in-hand. The specimen is from the Dr. David H. London collection. I obtained the bulk of his research pegmatite collection and many of the specimens are illustrated in his "Pegmatites" book. Most of the specimens will be show cased on a Special Edition later this year.
