This is a gem quality, colorless and transparent crystal showing good striated faces with one side cleaved. In the Black Hills amblygonite occurs as large 1-2 foot white to grey crystal nodules altered to an outer white kaolinte crusts. Amblygonite rarely occurs gemmy like this piece. Rio Grande do Norte and Linopolis are the only places I am aware of where it crystallizes to gem quality.
