Idaite occurs as microscopic inclusions in oxidized Bornite and/or Chalcopyrite at the Ida Mine. This piece is covered on all sides with purple to blue platy Bornite and golden Chalcopyrite in Quartz, and although we have not had the specimen analysed the presence of Idaite is entirely possible.
