Dull dark grey long strands of Alabandite crystals to over 3cm. This is by all accounts a very nice, choice, specimen.

A note from a fine mineralogist:

First, no Alabandite was found at the Proprietary (Broken Hill Proprietary; BHP) Mine at Broken Hill. It is probably from the Zinc Corp. (ZC) Mine, 20st Level at Broken Hill. This is where these "Plumrose Spray" crystal groups were found. Second, current research has now found that these "Plumrose Spray" crystal groups are actually Alabandite pseudomorphs of  Ramberite crystals not native Alabandite crystals.
