Glassy bright emerald green crystals in vuggy scoria.  This is a good, rich specimen. Avdoninte is only found in five localities worldwide.

A relatively new mineral from 2013 described by Dr. Igor Pekov and others in 2005. The specimen is from Pekov and can be considered "Author's Material".

The exact locality is: Yadovitaya fumarole, Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough (North Breach), Great Fissure eruption (Main Fracture), Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Krai, Russia
