Breithauptite (NiSb) is an ore of Nickel and a member of the Nickeline group along with Nickeline (NiAs). Both of these minerals have a bronzy color and it is difficult to distinguish the two apart visually. Breithauptite is more of a copper-red color, but this may not be evident until you have both minerals side-by-side. Breithauptite (32% Ni) contains less nickel than Nickeline (43.9% Ni). This specimen contains roughly 75% Breithauptite and displays the beautiful metallic color and luster of this mineral.
