This is a large, very impressive, mass of Molybdenite in vein fillings in porphyry ore.  

About 99% of the world's production of Molybdenum is derived from Molybdenite. It is used as a dry lubricant, chemical reagents, in the glass and ceramics industry, and as flame retardants.
