The Silver Star was a gold mine in Madison county, which was the second largest gold district in Montana. The deposit was located at the far south end of the Boulder Batholith. Apparently, at least, some of the gold ore was hosted in Hedenbergite. This specimen, was collected by the late Chris van Laer. This Hedenbergite contains divergent bladed crystals to 8cm. Excellent specimen of good gold ore.
