This is a good representative specimen of Sincosite from the Union Carbide mine. The deposit was mined for vanadium. The Sincosite was a one-time accurence found by the mine geologist Paul Thompson. The Sincosite on this specimen reaches only 0.5mm and occurs as square plates and little rosettes. Sincosite is a fairly rare mineral found in only a handful of deposits around the world.
