This specimen is a verified Londonite, with analytical sheets. It carries a signed Londonite label with analytical information directly from Dr. David London, of which the mineral was named. See prov. tab for more information and label.

It is an unusual bluish green crystal and is about 1.4cm and shows six good isometric crystal faces. It is actually twinned so there are two crystal. Slight dings on the top. It is associated with rubellite tourmaline. Londonite is a rare cesium-beryllium mineral found only in pegmatites. Without complete analytical data it is impossible to discern Londonite from Rhodizite, the potassium analogue of Londonite. Londonite contains rubidium, which the attached EDS spectra shows. Also, the complex zoning of these specimens show zones of the series between Londonite-Rhodizite. The SEM shows this specimen to have a rim and core of Londonite.
