A large, silvery and soft crystal group of Molybdenite. Both sides of this fine specimen show the classic nature of lamellar Molybdenite in shiny sheets developed as hexagonal crystal fans on both sides. Holding this in hand it is fun to compare this molybdenum sulfide with others in its class such as a Galena, Covellite, or Acanthite. The Moly is so soft and has a much different crystal habit and structure than the others.
