This mineral is listed with Lobley in "Mount Vesuvius" in 1889 and states that it is "not rare in the crater" and can crystallize in octahedrons, but is usually in fibrous crust. It was a valid mineral in the early days but Mindat states it is a "non-existent species" and may be discredited.
