In prep for the upcomingButte Special Edition, I was flipping through the 5 flats of material I have from Butte, all from Chris van Laers collection. I discovered this great petrological specimen which shows vein filling of pink Rhodochrosite in pegmatitic granite. The vein filling shows a little Quartz filling also and the granite is mineralized with sulfide, probably Pyrite. It is slightly polished on one side and unpolished on the other. It is a slab about 1cm thick.
