This may look like a homely specimen, and it is, but it comes with an old label with the date written as 3/23/34. The Davis Pyrite mine was a of stratabound massive sulfide deposit. They are dark bluish black and form crude stepped octahedral crystals, which are roughed up a bit. They are also hard, about 7.5, as it should be since it is a spinel with zinc. The matrix is mostly Pyrite and Quartz. See the prov. tab for a scan of the label. You should probably own a piece of history.
