Brown areas of Cassiterite with micro crystals. Casiterite is the primary ore of tin.

According to the USGS 2015 Commodity report, Indonesia is an important player in the mining and exportation of tin ore. It ranks second in production only to China. China mined 125,000 metric tons of tin versus 84,000 tons from Indonesia. China estimates reserves of 1.5 million metric tons of tin followed by 800,000 in Indoesia and Russia with 700,000. The USA has no viable tin reserves worth mining.
