Carchiaraite-(Fe) is one of the latest new interesting barium minerals from the Big Creek area. It shares type localities with the Cerchiara mine and Esquire #7 claim. It forms by the alteration of sanbornite-quartz rock and occurs as dark blue micro prisms in matrix barely visible with microscope. May be associated with Bazirite, Calcite, Titantaramellite, and Tobermoreite. This is authors material. Several authors provided the analysis of this new (2012) mineral including A. Kampf, A. Roberts, K. Venance, C. Carbone, G. Dunning, and R. Walstrom.
