Reddish brown bladed crystals in Triphylite matrix. Wolfeite is formed through the hydrothermal alteration of Triphylite at Palermo. These blades are not quite fully formed and are perhaps in transition. Pyrite occurs in the matrix.

Wolfeite forms a series with Triploidite and is isostructural with it as well as Wagnerite and Zweiselite.
