Igdlutalik Island, South Greenland

Emeleusite is thus far a one-locality mineral. It is an orthorhombic sodium-lithium-iron inosilicate. The deposit is distal from the the Ilímaussaq complex which is interesting since this is typically how lithium bearing pegmatites are found from an igneous body.

The specimen is rather nondescript. It is a granular pinkish tan mass.
