This is the largest and perhaps best Phosgenite of the group. It is complete on all sides with pinacoidal (two-flat) terminations. One end is terminated but also shows skeletal growth. The prism faces are deeply striated with perhaps the subsequent growth of parallel crystals. The color is a nice light amber, a little lighter than the photo's depict. As with all of these Phosgentites, this one was obtained from Renato Pagano, one of the authors of the article in the Mineralogical Record (v45 nov/Dec) on the Monteponi mine. Very fluorescent orange-yellow under longwave UV (as shown).
