Named after Dr. Frank Leslie Stillwell, an Australian ore mineralogist. Occuring in few localities, Stillwellite can be found as a replacement mineral of metamorphosed calcium-rich sediments and in alkalic pegmatites in syenite. Stillwellite is weakly radioactive.
