Mineralpedia Details for Threadgoldite
Threadgoldite

Named after Ian Malcomb Threadgold, a mineralogist who worked at the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia. This rare mineral occurs in just a few localities as a secondary mineral in uranium-rich zones of complex, zoned granite pegamitites. Threadgoldite is quite radioactive and will fluoresce green under long-wave ultraviolet light and a pale green under short-wave ultraviolet light.
