Argyrodite from Himmelsfurst mine, Freiberg dist., Saxony, Germany

- Special Info
- Type Locality
Excellent thumbnail piece with thick exceptional, well formend stacked pseudo-orthrhombic black crystals of Argyrodite to 4mm associated with orange Sphalerite.
Argyrodite from Gallofa mine, Colquechaca, Chayanta, Potosí, Bolivia
All of the arrows point to clusters of Argyrodite crystals. The crystals are multiple penetaration twins not easily seen. Recognizable faces of these twins are six edges enclosing an "indentation" at the center. A good diagram can be seen on Mindat. This is a real good identification key for Argyrodite. The specimen is indeed rich with Argyrodite. There are also numerous cherry red Pyrargyrite crystals not more than 1mm.
