Babingtonite from West Springfield, Hampden Co., Massachusetts, United States

Babingtonite
from West Springfield, Hampden Co., Massachusetts, United States

Clusters of quite large striated lustrous black Babingtonite to 2cm that appear to be etched out of a layer of course white Calcite on matrix. These are huge crystals for the species and virtually free of damage. Excellent specimen for the Mass. collector!!
