A stream worn pebble of reddish orange Thoreaulite probably erroded from the pegmatite. As noted on Mindat, this is a huge lithium pegmatite, which "produced about 140,000 tonnes of cassiterite concentrate and 4500 tonnes of columbite–tantalite concentrate." Also from Mindat: Operations also suggest that the Manono deposit hosts one of the largest reserves of lithium in the world (30 M tons of spodumene at 6% lithium oxide)."

The specimen is from the stock of Dr. Jaroslav Hyrsyl.

Ex. Dr Werner Paar specimen with microscopic Toyohaite crystals not seen with the naked eye in Franckeite and Cylindrite matrix.  Toyohaite is an extremely rare silver-tin sulfide. On the backside is a 1mm tetragonal Pirquitasite crystal much like the one photographed by Brent Thorne on Mindat click here.

Comes with the original Werner Paar label and also a Josef Vajdak label. See prov. tab.
