Pinkish lilac colored crystal section of Spodumene, variety kunzite. It is not gemmy but rather opaque. The Tin Mountain pegmatite had some of the biggest Spodumene crystals in the world on the order of tens of feet. Spodumene contains about 3.7% lithium. The US is a leading consumer of lithium while Australia is the leading producer ahead of Chile and China.

This is a chunk of Stannite which has a dull grey tarnished surface. It is split and shows a shiny silvery luster. It is a primary ore of tin, although not as common as Cassiterite. Stannite carries 29.6% copper and 27.6% tin. The mineral is chiefly found in high temperature hydrothermal vein deposits. Stannite is relatively soft with a hardness of 4 and has a density of 4.3 - 4.5. This is the type localty.
