There are very few Wavellite specimens from Butte that I have seen. This specimen shows excellent micro crystal groups to 2mm. Some of the groups are split open which reveals their acicular prismatic habit of the single crystals. The color is a faint grayish blue. The Wavellite occurs on predominantly Pyrite matrix with crystals 7-8mm. There are numerous micro crystals of Digenite, Chalcosite and quite possibly Djurleite. One area shows a brony crystalline, formless mass of probablu Colusite. This is very similar to the Evanich specimen on Mindat.

The specimen is from the Berkeley Pit.
