Colorless prismatic crystals to about 0.75mm in Cuprobismutite with some Quartz. Cannonite is a rare mineral that can be found as an alteration product in copper-bismuth-gold sulfide deposits. The type locality is at the Tunnel Extension No. 1, Marysvale, Piute Co., Utah.
Cannonite is named in honor of the late "Bart" Cannon V (1950-2019), mineral collector and microprobe operator. The microprobe was in his basement along with many other analytical machines.

Black tabular crystals to 0.5mm in aggregates (second photo) 5mm across. The reverse side has stringers of Cechite. The crystals are tabular with pyramidal forms and look very similar to Descloizite, which is not too surpising given the formula and crystal classes of each. In fact Cechite is a member of the Adelite-Descloizite group. The matrix is Calcite. Very nice peice.
