Heavy, vitreous red layered Bastnasite. Compare density of Bastnasite with Livingstonite on this Daily Five. Bastnasite density is 5.2, while Livingstonite is 4.88 g/cm3. And in-hand this specimen is indeed unusually heavy. But compare cerium in bastnasite is 6.76 versus mercury is 13.6 g/cm3. Bastnasite must have a tighter bond (?).
