Turtmannite is a very rare, one-locality, mineral with vanadium fround in the Swiss Alps. Hardy souls of rock collectors bring specimens such as this down from the high elevations in the snow. This piece has a few orange lenses of Turtmannite formed from metamorphism of sedimentary rock mineralized by sea floor exhalative deposits.
