Rongibbsite crystals to about 0.3mm growing on clear Quartz crystals and on the fringes of the small vug.
Rongibbsite is named after Ron Gibbs an eminent mineralogist of the southwestern US. Ron brought many rare phosphates and arsenates to market and personal collections. He is coauthor of the book "Mineralogy of Arizona" 4th edition. He also authored the book "Agates and Jaspers" in 2009. His profession as a mining engineer landed a job at the famous New Cornelia mine in Arizona and later in Tyrone and Silver City, New Mexico. You will always see Ron at the New Mexico Mineral Symposium and of course the Tucson show.
Ron along with Joan Beyer wrote a paper on Granite Gap, Hidalgo Co., NM. Their collecting culminated in many new occurences of minerals from this locality.
