Large heavy Silver ore specimen rich with dark silver-black massive Pyrargyrite (Ruby Silver) with deep red internal color associated with Galena, Sphalerite, and Pyrite. The old label with this specimen mentions that this is a piece of high-grade ore.
In the Mineralogical Record's article on the Highland Bell Mine (20-6,p441) the silver lodes occur in brecciated Quartz veins in a mineralized zone approximately 6.4km E-W that is interrupted by numerous offset faults.

Pyrargyrite crystals to 8mm with orange crystals of Xanthoconite. Truthfully, I did not notice the orange crystals until I photographed this specimen. These crystals fit the ID of Xanthoconite well. They stuck out well and look much like Xanthoconite. So either the mineral has not been reported at Fresnillo or the specimen is from San Martin or Bote.
