Creamy pink pseudocubic rhombohedral crystals to 5mm in Quartz matrix. The Champion mine is the type locality and can be said to have the finest crystals in the world. Although there are several other deposits, it is safe to say it is the best. It is found in a variety of geological environments such as copper porphyries with argillic alteration, hot springs, iron-tin, and carbonatites, cave-guano deposits but generally deposits of high aluminum such as the Champion mine. Interestingly not in pegmatites (?).
