Type locality. Gowerite was described in 1959 after its discovery in Death Valley, California. It forms from the alteration of Colemanite and Priceite. It was found on the claims of Pacific Coast Borate Company. The crystals are needlelike which form on globular radiating clusters. This specimen examplifies the description from the original paper on Gowerite. This is an excellent specimen of this rare hydrous calcium borate.
