Type Locality

Ellenbergerite, a very rare titanium-zirconium silicate, was described in 1984 from this locality. It is found no where else on Earth except this locality and a few nearby localites. It typically occurs as inclusions in Pyrope garnets, but rarely as single crystals like this specimen. The largest crystal is 1.5mm at the lower arrow.
