Tiny reddish glassy crystals less than 0.5mm in spongy "scoria" matrix from volcanic rock. There are numerous crystals in this matrix and can barely be seen in the photos. But basically all the red spots you see in the photos are Cupromolybdite.

Identified by Dr. Igor Pekov. This specimen is from the original material first used by the author to describe this mineral.

The exact locality is: Yadovitaya fumarole, Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough (North Breach), Great Fissure eruption (Main Fracture), Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Krai, Russia
