Little red pods of Cinnabar (no crystals) with associated Coloradite. These two minerals of course contain mercury as the primary anion, so the association is a key to their identity. In all the Bessie G specimens from the Hampson collection that we have in stock, this is the only Cinnabar I have seen. Although, I have not seen all of it as there is much rough to examine. There are some unidentified brassy to iridescent black crystals on this specimen which may be Tennantite, perhaps Argentotennantite or "just" Coloradoite.
