#WR55535
Locality
Northumberland mine, Nye Co., Nevada, United States
Formula
BaSO4
Availability
Sold
Size
12 x 9 x 7 cm - Cabinet

A Nevada classic locality, which produced numerous Baryte specimens. The best specimens were golden. This one is a cabinet specimen of grey to colorless Baryte with sharp chisel-shaped terminations. The largest crystal is 5.5cm. It is not very aesthetic due to its drab color but there is really no damage and the crystals are impressive. At the time, Baryte specimens from Northumberland were some of the best offered from Nevada. Of course Meilke blew this locality out of the water many years after during the Carlin gold rush. The mine is long shut down.

Exquisite blue Fluorite crystals to 10mm. The photos show many of these crystals to be light purple. They are not! They are blue, it's just a digital thing. If you like your Fluorite, blue Fluorite from Illinois is the most sought after and very hard to obtain these days. It is in very good shape with very minor chips and no cleaves. In association are Sphalerite and Baryte crystals.
