Pefect little tabular and colorless Caracolite crystals from 0.5 to 1mm. Apparently these are trillings which are twins giving it a pseudo-hexagonal cross-section much like aragonite. These are tabular with very little prism faces. The Pinch label also notes Tamarugite crystals, which I have no idea what they are besides "it's white". There are some yellowish Jarosite crystals scattered around the matrix.

Please see the William Pinch and Terry Szenics labels on the prov. tab.

Clait Platte Ranch, Apache Co., Arizona, United States

Size
9 x 8.5 x 5 cm - Sm Cabinet

Arnold Hampson described this specimen as "Celestine after wood." It's possible, though I haven't yet seen a specimen where there is obvious replacement. It could very well be a deposit of Celestine inside of voids in the wood. Nearly any mineral can replace wood. This specimen is nearly all Celestine. It should only a slight yellow fluoresence under SW UV,

Hematite

with Japan Law twinned Quartz - #AH55275

San Pedro mine, New Placers dist., Santa Fe Co., New Mexico, United States
Formula
Fe2O3
Availability
Available
Price
$50.00
Size
3.5 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm - Miniature

I got a real kick out of this specimen when I zeroed in on the Hematite rose and saw the little japanese-law twinned Quartz crystal. It's a perfect little twin 2mm across and waterclear. There is another which is equally nice as shown on the 6th photo. The Hematite rose is nice also and the largest is 6mm across. The twinned Quartz must be a later generation as the rest of the Quartz seems green and is prismatic. There are also some excellent sprays of Epidote. I have convinced myself that the long white prismatic crystals are stacked rhombohedra of Adularia and not apatite.

You will surely enjoy this peice under the scope.
