Hubnerite

Locality
Wichita Tungsten mine, Copper Mountain, Picuris District, Taos Co., New Mexico, United States
Formula
Mn2+WO4

Size
9 x 7 x 3.5 cm - Sm Cabinet

Quartz vein mineralization featuring long bladed black Wolframite crystals from 15 to 25mm long suspended in Quartz. This is an important specimen, which is never seen on the market. It was collected in 1961 by Arnold Hampson. The locality is also known as just "Copper Mountain". According to Northrop (Minerals of NM), museum quality specimens were once found. I consider this a museum quality specimen, a legacy piece from a long forgotten locality.
