A great representative specimen for a deposit I cannot find online. It was collected in 1945 by Arnold Hampson himself. It features fracture fillings of spotty grey Chalcocite and nice green sprays of Malachite with Calcite.

Here's a chunk of ore grade Chalcocite from a famous locality on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Of course it was probably legally collected at the time, which was in 1946 by Arnold Hampson.

Hampson labeled it as from Powell Point, so I assume this to be the old Orphan mine. It was collected by Hampson during his marathon trip from the east coast to the west coast and back, an 11,000 mile collecting trip prior to attending the Colorado School of Mines the same year.

The specimen was originally labeled as "Argentite" by Hampson. Upon close inspection, I did not see any sign of Argentite/Acanthite, however I did observe plenty of waxy grey Chlorargyrite, a sure sign of Silver ore. This is an old time locality. Most likely from the Presidio Shaft, although the labels it as "Shafter Mine". During the period of 1927-1940, the district recorded a production of 11.8 million ounces of Silver and 7 million pounds of Lead from manto deposits in Permian limestones.

Acquired by Hampson in 1944.

Red crude Corundum wrapped with Muscovite. The locality I assume is the nearest town, and thus I do not know precisely the locality. It is not quite this red in hand. Acquired by Hampson in 1945. Perhaps somebody out there knows?
