A handsome basic mineral specimen from a well-known Cumbrian locality well-known to collectors of the area. This specimen sits perfectly well on its own as seen in the first photo. The other photos show the saddle-shaped crystals with a pearly luster and curvy shapes of the Ankerite crystals generally to 4mm.

Hematite crystals are known for their variety of habits. On this specimen the entire black area is covered with discoidal rosettes of flashy black rosettes of Hematite to 4mm. Groups of rectangular creamy white Baryte crystals to 6mm cover the parts of the Hematite in small areas. Encroaching in from the left side are brownish Calcite crystals which cover half of the backside.  It's a large specimen, fit for the cabinet to round out your sweet English suite. Two hand-written labels can be seen in the provenance tab.

This is a relatively new IMA mineral. It is a manganese aluminum silicate and is a dark yellowish black grain to 1cm at the arrow. However the entire rim of this specimen is Bunnoite.
