Superb micro crystals of greenish yellow blades of Badalovite from 0.5 to 1mm at the greatest and group in 1.5 mm sprays covering the face of this specimen. This is a study specimen used to describe the mineral by Dr. Igor Pekov. It is a new IMA mineral, not yet published, but approved. Great coverage and fun to view with the scope.

The exact locality is: Arsenatnaya fumarole, Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough, Great Fissure eruption (Main Fracture), Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Oblast', Far-Eastern Region, Russia

Lustrous, thick tabular crystals in fan-shaped aggregates otherwise known as "maggot-ore: (ref. Dunn, p412). The specimen was collected from the old Passaic pit of Sterling Hill mined around 1870. As Dunn points out: "these are amongst the best hemimorphite specimens world-wide and are represented in most systematic collections". The 010 face has mild striations and are short compared to most Hemimorphites. Parker Minerals tag.
