Azurite

4.5 x 5 x 5 cm - Miniature

Deep, rich blue rosettes of Azurite to 1mm. With close inspection of this specimen you will see tiny Malachite balls as well as 3-4mm sprays of light greyish green, acicular crystals. These acicular crystals I believe were formerly Brochantite and are now replaced by a clay mineral or perhaps chrysocolla. Whatever the case they are interesting and pierce both the Malachite balls and Quartz crystals. The Quartz having a mint green color from the these inclusions. Waidler had this labelled as Cyanotrichite. I assume he saw the tiny Azurite crystals and mistaked them for Cyanotrichite.

This is a must get for an Arizona collector.
