Slender, bladed crystals of silvery Pavonite with granular grey, metallic Canfieldite. Excellent specimen from the Dr. Warner Paar collection. Sawed on two sides for microprobe work.

This is a type locality Pearceite from an old, classic silver bearing Colorado locality. The piece is sawed and polished on one side for microprobe work with elemental percentages on a label. The other side is rough and shows dark dull grey color with really no crystallized area.

This is a very rich specimen of this uncommon copper-silver-arsenic sufide. Crystals such as these are rare, especially of this size. Specimens like this one were brought to the market by Dr. Jaroslav Hrysl 5 or 6 years ago maybe more. They hit the market then vanished. Virtually all of the silvery mineral in the photos is Pearceite. The crystals, in sub-parallel rosettes, span 6mm across and carry a brilliant luster.

An soft creamy tan, aesthetic group of large rounded Pectolite groups to 3.5 with a few showing the interior snow-white crystals in radial cross sections. There is also tiny less than 0.3mm Pyrite crystals on the Pectolite and a bit of light green Prehnite. Excellent specimen.
