These little cherry red cubic crystals are eye-popping. The first Galkhaite from the Getchell mine were associated with the Realgar and Orpiment and were little black crystals hardly seen. Then much later these Galkhaites were found in siliceous matrix. As you can see the crystals are suberb in form and color. They average about 0.75 to 1mm. Note the wild combination of elements.

The type and only locality for this rare Ca-Al phosphate with Fluorine. It occurs as white, nondescript veinlets in altered Triplite and always associated with Morinite. The orange arrows are the Galliskiite and the blue arrow designates the locality of the possible Gayinte. Excalibur label. New IMA mineral in 2009.
